Laura Valenzuala, Viola

Laura Valenzuela was born in Russia in a multi-cultural family of musicians: her father, a Chilean was a cellist and her mother from Columbia was a pianist. Her musical career started very early in life at the age of seven in Paris, where she studied under Bonafous, Chevauche en Brunier and others.

She has been studying in The Netherlands since 1999. First under Ron Ephrat in Rotterdam and then under Mikhail Kuguel in Maastricht. Besides playing in string trio Frida Kahlo and several professional orchestras, Laura is inspired by Latin American music. Like Sophie de Rijk and Ananta Roosens, she was part of Orquesta Tipica OTRA. She also plays in the Cuban salsaband Erik Y Su Chocolate.

Since July 2004, Laura is the viola player in Pavadita.
